NDA Exam 2026: Selection Process, Syllabus, and Eligibility Criteria
One of the most prominent defense entry exams in India is the NDA exam, administered by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Exam Pattern And Syllabus
The written test consists of two papers on the same day and is administered offline using pen and paper:Â
1) Paper I: Mathematics (300 marks)
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Â Syllabus: algebra, trigonometry, matrices, calculus, statistics, and probability.Â
2) Paper II: General Ability Test(GAT) (600 marks)
- Duration: 2.5 hours
Part A(English): grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension(200 marks)
Part B(General Knowledge): Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Geography, and Current Affairs (400 marks).
For every wrong answer, there is a negative marking of â…“ of the marks assigned to that question.Â

3) SSB interview(900 marks)
